Planned Services
To fund the projects and work of Divergence and Dialogue, we are currently putting together several planned services related to our area of research - tentatively, we will be able to start offering these services by mid-to-late 2024, along with adding several options for general support with various perks through Patreon. Once these services are live, we'll create a booking site for readers to access.
Personal and Professional Consultations
If you're an individual looking for research help, a group planning a presentation, or an organization looking for collaboration on a program or production, having the input and participation of someone familiar with the creation-evolution scene can be indispensable. I'd like to offer consultation by session and by contract so that no matter what the scale of the intended project is, we'll be able to help out. At the moment, the primary plan is to offer general theological and scientific input, although depending on who we bring on to the team, we may be able to offer help and information in more specialized areas. Depending on timing, we should be able to begin offering these consultations by mid-2024.
Curated Online Bookstore
This may be considered more of a project than a service, but regardless - we'd like to construct an online library of recommended books that tackle biblical and scientific creationism in faithful ways. At the moment, we'd like to divide the store into sections based on the fields covered so that it's easy to navigate, whether you need a field guide to the general claims of young earth creationism, a biblical commentary on Genesis, or a specific treatment on the histology of claimed dinosaur soft tissue finds. A few members of our team may also be publishing treatments of specialized models/claims of young earth creationism, and we would make those available here. The store should be available by late 2024, depending on how other projects and priorities are met.
Integrative Coaching
After wrapping up my undergrad, I plan to move on to postgraduate training to sit for certification with the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching later this year (specializing in behavioral and mental health). As one of my first efforts following credentialing, I want to offer inexpensive coaching to people whose encounters with young earth creationism have negatively affected their faith or well-being. I understand first-hand the difficulty that's associated with deconstructing from young earth creationism and trying to square the realization that I didn't believe it with my faith (since I had been led to believe that I couldn't hold to one without the other). One of my biggest wishes, almost a decade later, is that I could have had someone in my corner who could help me integrate how to relate what I was learning with my faith, or even just help support me in my questions, feelings, personalized research, etc. While it's an incredibly niche sphere, I think offering it as a side here would be a benefit to those who need it. Depending on how the state schedules its testing, I should be able to start offering these sessions before 2025, but that depends on several factors.
Assessments and Testing
Given our founding specialization in psychology, we'd like to complement our research by providing surveys and evaluations that can help individuals contribute to studies on attitudes toward creationist-adjacent topics or find out what direction would be most helpful for them in further studying creation-evolution subjects. These assessments and study surveys would require the most planning of any services we hope to offer, and most likely would not be ready for launch until late 2024 or early 2025. However, we expect to "roll" them out as we complete them, so some may be available earlier than others.
