Planned Projects

We plan to work on the following project proposals throughout 2024, launching several throughout the year and preparing some for 2025 due to the amount of resources needed to bring them about. In the meantime, we will continue to update our site with ongoing articles relevant to our work that cover important topics, which you can check out on our blog. Questions or comments can be left in the comment section below or forwarded to divergenceanddialogue[at]gmail.com.

Jack Chick's Young Earth
Almost everyone is familiar with Jack Chick's famous fundamentalist comics known as Chick Tracts. What most people aren't familiar with, however, is how central young earth creationist arguments are to much of the material - many tracts are written specifically to argue against evolution, and Chick even authored two full-color, 32-page comic books to discuss the errors of evolution and the finding of Noah's Ark. While those who aren't in the Bible Belt might not realize the necessity of this project, I was raised in a Church that handed out Chick tracts and was convinced as a child that the claims made in the comics were 100% true and reliable. To this day, I still see Chick tracts around and see their arguments being used sincerely online. Since there's no "one-stop-shop" resource that goes over all of Chick's young-earth arguments, I wanted to create one for anyone who might be confused by the comic's claims or want more information about them from a critical perspective. Jack Chick's Young Earth is set to launch in late 2024.

Possible Online Academy
Inspired by Catholic Answers' School of Apologetics, this would be a long-haul project that would require in-depth planning and greater hosting capabilities than we currently have. I think that this would be a great tool to help people research creationist topics (both theological and scientific) by subject if they have a learning style that research articles don't cater to. However, this proposal is in the "idea stage" only, so whether or not it will come to fruition (much like the possible literature review journal) is currently up in the air.
